Full Liverpool squad available for Rangers as defence boosted but four still missing

Liverpool will look to find some semblance of form when they host Rangers at Anfield in the Champions League this evening.

The Reds go into gameweek three of the group stages off the back of another disappointing domestic result, with the spoils shared in Saturday’s 3-3 draw against Brighton as Leandro Trossard’s hat-trick cancelled out a Roberto Firmino brace and Adam Webster’s own goal - two points dropped makes it just two wins from seven in the league.

In Europe, Jurgen Klopp’s side have been equally inconsistent, kicking off their campaign with a 4-1 humbling at Napoli before a 2-1 win at home to Ajax - courtesy of Joel Matip’s 89th-minute header - three weeks ago. In Rangers, they face a side who have lost both of their two group games without scoring.

Klopp goes into tonight’s clash with no fresh concerns as Ibrahima Konate and Calvin Ramsey continue to build their fitness after returning from injury. Arthur Melo remains in contention for an appearance since joining on-loan from Juventus, having played just 14 minutes for the senior squad and a couple of under-21’s games.

The Reds boss detailed how he was unable to start either Darwin Nunez or Diogo Jota in Saturday’s clash because of small issues, and the Liverpool boss went into more detail on the Uruguayan’s diagnosis on Monday.

He said: "Why he didn’t start this game [against Brighton], he came from international [duty] and he had DOMS [delayed onset muscle soreness] in the hamstring. When you get this information from the medical department, it gives you some kind of minutes, how long he is allowed to play. Don’t start anybody who is allowed to play 20 minutes or 15. I know it’s again this kind of discussion we open up a little bit for the outside world."

Other than that, the previously injured group of Andy Robertson, Curtis Jones, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remain unavailable - the latter pair were omitted from Liverpool's Champions League squad entirely in a hint that they won’t be returning to action any time soon.

Below is the list of players who look set to be available to the Reds' boss ahead of Brighton's visit to Anfield, based on training images and injury updates from Klopp:

Goalkeepers: Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher, Adrian, Marcelo Pitaluga, Fabian Mrozek.

Defenders: Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Nat Phillips, Kostas Tsimikas, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Calvin Ramsey.

Midfielders: Arthur, Fabinho, Fabio Carvalho, Harvey Elliott, James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic.

Forwards: Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino.
