Full Liverpool squad available for Man City as several stars to miss Community Shield

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be at least without three key men as Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss the clash with Manchester City.

The two giants of English football meet at Leicester City's King Power Stadium as the FA Cup holders and the Premier League champions lock horns once again.

All eyes will be on the two managers in the dugout over their selections and whether they opt to field star strikers Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland, respectively. City haven't been in action since their 1-0 win over Bayern Munich in Tampa Bay last week, barring any behind-closed-doors friendlies.

Meanwhile, the Reds go into Saturday's trip to the Midlands on the back of their 1-0 defeat to RB Salzburg.

As things stand for Klopp's squad, they will play their title rivals on Saturday before hosting Strasbourg on Sunday ahead of their Premier League opener against Fulham. They will then play another friendly, less than 24 hours after the league curtain raiser, in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

Manchester City will be without Aymeric Laporte as the defender requires surgery. However, summer signings Stefan Ortega, Julian Alvarez, Kalvin Phillips and Haaland are all in contention to make their debuts for the Citizens.

Liverpool will be without Alisson as the shot-stopper continues his recovery from an abdominal injury. Jota is also sidelined through injury after a recurrence of a hamstring problem.

Kostas Tsmikas could be a doubt after missing the friendly with Salzburg, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remains out of action. Summer signing Calvin Ramsay is unlikely to be risked after picking up an injury on the eve of the tour of Asia as Caoimhin Kelleher is out through injury.

*Here are the players Klopp looks set to have at his disposal barring any late issues:

Goalkeepers: Adrian, Harvey Davies.

Defenders: Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Isaac Mabaya, Kostas Tsimikas.

Midfielders: Curtis Jones, Fabinho, Harvey Elliott, James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic, Tyler Morton, Fabio Carvalho.

Forwards: Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino.
