Full Liverpool squad available for Chelsea clash after Darwin Nunez injury update

Liverpool take on Chelsea this weekend in a match that could go a long way in deciding the direction of their season.

The Reds have endured an underwhelming first half of the campaign having won just eight of their opening 19 games of the season - a run that culminated with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton last time out. They are now ten points behind fourth-placed Newcastle in the race for the Champions League places.

Klopp’s men take on fellow strugglers Chelsea this weekend at Anfield with another defeat dealing another major blow to their hopes of returning to Europe’s top table. Ahead of the match, the Reds have been handed a considerable boost with striker Darwin Nunez seemingly back in contention to play.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Klopp said: "Progress with all availability. Darwin is very close but it's Monday and tomorrow's the game. He's very close.

"Milly [James Milner] and Stefan [Bajcetic] trained fully. Milly was on the bench and Stefan is now available again.”

Speaking further about the young midfielder, he added: "He has for a while been closer to getting into my thoughts for a start. He was injured for two games. Nothing serious, painful, but now he has played and is closer. You can't be closer to a team than always being in a squad and coming on, stuff like this. Do we have to be careful with him because of his development? It doesn't look like that, no."

Despite that, there still remains a couple of considerable issues for the Reds to navigate. Key defender Virgil van Dijk is out with a hamstring issue, whilst Roberto Firmino is still on the sidelines with a calf injury.

Wideman Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota still continue their rehabilitations from respective long-term injuries. Finally, midfielder Arthur Melo is also still out as his disastrous loan spell from Italian giants Juventus continues.

Should Liverpool win against Chelsea this weekend, they could potentially rise up to sixth in the Premier League standings. Another loss though will see them drop below their upcoming opponents.

With that being said, here is the full squad that Klopp has at his disposal for the game:

Goalkeepers: Adrian, Alisson, Caoimhin Kelleher.

Defenders: Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Kostas Tsimikas, Nat Phillips, Calvin Ramsay, Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Midfielders: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Curtis Jones, Fabio Carvalho, Fabinho, Harvey Elliott, Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, Stefan Bajcetic, James Milner.

Forwards: Mohamed Salah, Bobby Clark, Ben Doak, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez.
