Full Liverpool squad available for Arsenal as duo to return but doubt over midfielder

Jurgen Klopp faces an important decision over his team selection as he looks to guide Liverpool to three points at the expense of Arsenal.

Saturday's results did the Reds absolutely no favours. Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur all won, placing an even greater emphasis on the need for Liverpool to take care of their own business in the Premier League.

Facing the team many fancy to win the title will ensure the Reds have little margin for error when they take to the pitch this afternoon at Anfield, as Arsenal aim to maintain their relentless pursuit of top-flight glory.

The positives for Klopp's side heading into this contest is that Virgil van Dijk and Thiago Alcantara are set to return to the starting XI, the latter having missed the last 10 games in all competitions. Luis Diaz will not be risked, instead poised to be back in action against Leeds United on Monday week. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen as to whether or not Naby Keita has recovered from his muscle issue.

Providing an update on the availability of the aforementioned first-team options, Liverpool boss Klopp told reporters on Friday: “Virgil, completely normal, was back in training. Luis and Thiago training completely normal. The plan with Luis is that he will be available 100 per cent for Leeds. Again, it looks good, everything is fine, but it was a long, long injury and so we have to be careful. We will probably not involve him for Sunday.

“Thiago looks slightly different. He was not out that long, trained now three, four times with the team and might be available. But we have to check how he feels today.”

Here is the full Liverpool squad expected to be available for Arsenal, barring any late issues.

Goalkeepers: Adrian, Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher.

Defenders: Andy Robertson, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate, Kostas Tsimikas, Nat Phillips, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk.

Midfielders: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arthur Melo, Curtis Jones, Fabinho, Fabio Carvalho, Harvey Elliott, James Milner, Jordan Henderson.

Forwards: Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah.

Sidelined: Calvin Ramsay, Luis Diaz, Naby Keita, Stefan Bajcetic.
