Nigel Wheatley, centre director at Victoria Centre, said:“Since the announcement on Saturday, we’ve been working hard to support our retailers as they make plans for the new lockdown period. As was the case back in the spring, we’re doing everything possible to ensure that people in the city still have access to essential services, as well as the opportunity to click and collect items and buy food to take away, in line with the guidance set out by the government.

“As this is a fast-moving situation, some plans may be subject to change, and we urge everyone to check individual retailer websites and social media channels before leaving home.

“Our Victoria Centre team will be continuing to ensure that the centre is a safe and clean place for those who visit us during this time and we ask that people still follow the guidance regarding social distancing and the wearing of face coverings, as well as using our hand sanitising stations regularly.

“Like everyone else in the country, it’s important that we do our bit now so we can return to some degree of normality in the run up to Christmas. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Victoria Centre fully in December.”

Other changes at Victoria Centre from November 5 to December 2 include:

Entrance & exit points

Parliament Street, Milton Street, Glasshouse Street and Cairns Street entrances and exits will remain open, with staff available at each entrance point to answer any questions.

The York Street entrance (by Tesco) will be closed during this period.

Parliament Street and Cairns Street entrances will be open 8am to 6pm.

The walkway between Milton Street and Glasshouse Street will be closed from 11pm to 7am.

Alternative access points have been arranged for Nottingham City Homes residents and are being communicated with them.

The mall

Access to certain areas of the mall will be restricted depending on store openings. Clear signage will be in place to help direct visitors.

Toilets

The centre toilet facilities will be closed during the lockdown period.

Car parks

The multi-storey car park (off Woodborough Road) will be closed during lockdown.

Anyone driving to the centre will be asked to access the Basement Car Park via the Glasshouse Street entrance (NG1 3LW) or York Street entrance (NG1 3NS).

The first hour of parking will be free to allow people to access essential retail and click and collect services. After the first hour, normal car park tariffs will apply.

For additional information or changes, please see individual retailer websites or follow Victoria Centre’s social media channels.
