Full list of unsung Sunderland heroes named in the Queen's Birthday Honours list 2021

These dedicated people from Sunderland have been named in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

The 2021 list includes Sunderland -born footballer Jordan Henderson, who is made an MBE for his services to football and charity, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Liverpool captain raised £4m for the NHS from fellow Premier League footballers through the £PlayersTogether appeal.

Also honoured are other unsung heroes who have been carrying out charity work or have helped to improve heir communities.
