From strange white orbs hovering in the sky to flying disc-shaped objects, it appears UFO sightings are on the rise in Scotland.
That's according to a new report from an organisation investigating the phenomena who claim 52 Unidentified flying objects (UFO) have been spotted in Scotland in the past year.
According to UFO Identified, which was created by ufologist Ash Ellis, UFO reports in Scotland rose from 43 to 52 in 2022 compared to the year before.
Unidentified flying objects have been making headlines worldwide, with four of varying shapes and sizes being shot down by United States authorities in recent weeks. One of these was confirmed to be a Chinese spy balloon, but the identity of the others remains a mystery.
UFO Identified's 2022 report reveals that sightings were recorded across Scotland. As well as major cities such as Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, Fife, Stirling and the Scottish Borders all saw numerous reports of UFOs.
Sightings include a bright white orb spotted hovering above Edinburgh Castle, and an object "like a plane with no wings" flying high up with no vapour trail.
