Full list of schools hit by coronavirus cases as entire year groups sent home

Hundreds of children, from a number of schools, are now self isolating at home after a rise in coronavirus cases.

Pupils and staff members at another six schools were sent home this week after receiving positive text results.

Among those, Sudley Junior School now has half of its entire school in isolation.

Pupils from two whole year groups have been asked to stay away from school for 14 days.

On Wednesday, the ECHO also confirmed that five Wirral schools had also been affected and asked children and staff to self isolate.

Below is the latest full list of school's hit by positive cases.

Woodchurch High School

After one Year 10 pupil tested positive for Covid-19 at Woodchurch High School, the whole year group has been told to self-isolate at home for 14 days. Other year groups are not affected.

Co-op Academy Bebington

Co-op Academy Bebington has had two staff members test positive for the virus.

Staff members who have been in contact with them are being told to isolate, but the school has decided that none of its students need to self-isolate after conducting an internal track and trace process.

Ridgeway High School

Brackenwood Infant School

A letter seen by the ECHO said Year 2 children at Brackenwood Infant School would be required to self-isolate after clarification by Public Health England.

Bidston Village Primary School

Sudley Junior School

Half of all pupils at Sudley Junior School in south Liverpool have been sent home to isolate.

The school is made up of four year groups but now two of those entire year groups have now been sent home after two pupils tested positive for Covid-19.

On the school's website, a message from headteacher Scott Connell states: "We have received news that a child in Year 3 and 5 has tested positive for Covid-19.

"Having taken advice from Public Health England and the Local Authority and in line with national guidance, the Y3 and Y5 bubbles will now be forced to close.

"This means that all Year 3 and 5 children must stay at home until Monday 21 September and self isolate."
