Full list of places with the highest Covid-19 infection rates in the North East - area by area

There are a number of areas with high coronavirus infection levels across the North East.

The postcodes are located in Northumberland, Gateshead, Sunderland and County Durham with the latter having the highest infection rate in the region.

County Durham had an infection rate in the seven days leading up to December 28, followed by Gateshead and Sunderland.

Newcastle currently has the lowest rate of infection in the region per 100,000 of population, according to Public Health England data.
