Thousands more businesses will be able to reopen next month, including everything from leisure centres to beauty salons.
Last week, Prime Minister Boris Johnson laid out the next steps for Britain’s recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, with updates on working from home and more reopenings.
He also confirmed that several more businesses would be allowed to reopen from August 1, including bowling alleys, ice skating rinks and casinos, reports the Mirror.
The PM said that trials will take place from August 1 to return fans to stadiums for sporting and music events, as well as piloted returns for indoor theatre performances.
Stadiums can then reopen for sports and music events from October 1, though this is subject to a piloted return.
The PM said all these measures will be dependent on there being no further outbreaks of coronavirus and reopenings must be in a ‘Covid secure’ way.

This will include measures like social distancing and encouraging customers to carry out regular hand washing.
Boris Johnson also confirmed that despite reopening many hospitality and leisure businesses, nightclubs and indoor children’s play areas, such as soft play centres, will remain closed for the foreseeable future.
He added this is under constant review.
