Full list of North East roads flooded amid Met Office heavy rain warning

Roads in the North East are flooded on Tuesday as heavy rain continues to batter the region.

The Met Office has a yellow weather warning for rain in place until 11pm and say there's risk of fast flowing floodwater and power cuts.

It reads: "Spells of heavy rain are expected to move northeastwards during today, bringing 20-30 mm of rain within 3 hours in places, and as much as 40-60 mm in 6 hours across parts of northern England. Lightning is also possible.

"The rain will be replaced by scattered showers from the south-west during the course of the afternoon and evening."

  • There's surface water on the A1 Western Bypass from J69 A692 Lobley Hill Road (Dunston Interchange) to J66 A167 Durham Road (Bowes Incline)
  • There's a lane blocked on the A167 Gateshead Highway Northbound at B1426 outside the Springfield Garage heading towards the Tyne Bridge
  • The Neville Street entrance at Central Station is currently closed due to flooding. The station is open as usual - use the mainline station entrance or the Grainger Street entrance
