Full list of Greggs branches in the UK reopening this week

Five Greggs stores are to reopen in Bristol on Thursday, the bakery firm announced today (June 16).

It is part of plans to start trading at around 800 stores nationwide for takeaways.

The new-look stores will feature floor markings, protective clothes for staff and screens at counters if plans to fully reopen the remaining 1,000 sites by early July go ahead.

There will also be a reduced menu to ensure social distancing in kitchens and workspaces.

As a result of the expected fall in sales, an unspecified proportion of staff “will remain furloughed until sales levels begin returning to normal”, the company has said.

Chief executive Roger Whiteside however said he is confident of the company's ability to adapt to the crisis.

He said: “Looking forward, although great uncertainty remains, we are excited to be resuming our service for many customers this week.

“We are confident of our ability to adapt to market conditions in the short term while continuing to invest in the long-term growth of our business.”

The Greggs stores which are reopening for takeaway in Bristol on Thursday are:

  • Broadmead
  • Horsefair, city centre
  • Cabot Circus
  • St James Court, city centre
  • Avonmeads
