Full list of GCSE, A level and AS level subjects where students will get additional support in 2022

The government has announced details of a support package for secondary school students taking exams in England this summer.

Exams regulator Ofqual has said the package, which includes 'generous' grading, is intended to be 'as fair as possible' to pupils given the disruption they have faced due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Those taking some GCSE, AS and A level qualifications will see changes including formulae and equation sheets in a few exams and less topics to memorise.

But assessments are expected to return to normal standards by 2023, according to the Department for Education (DfE) and Ofqual.

It comes after the proportion of GCSE and A-level entries awarded the top grades surged to a record high last year after results were determined by teachers amid cancelled exams due to coronavirus.

Ancient history
