Full list of garda lockdown fines after big change came into effect this week

This is the full list of garda lockdown fines as gardai now have the power to call to the homes of people who have arrived from overseas to ensure they are obeying lockdown rules.

The Irish public is being asked to stay at home, except for travel for work, education or other essential purposes, or to take exercise within 5km of home.

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly signed regulations that will introduce a system of mandatory quarantine for arrivals into the State.

Passengers who come from any destination must legally quarantine for 14 days at the address given on their Passenger Locator Form.

If gardai discover non-compliance, people can face a €2,500 fine, six months in prison, or both.

The regulations do allow for limited exemptions for essential reasons.

But those exempted are expected to follow quarantine at all other times.

Exemptions include workers for repair and maintenance of critical infrastructure.
