Full list of Coughlan bakeries closing after business part-owned by Romesh Ranganathan goes into liquidation

All 31 branches of a bakery chain co-owned by comedian Romesh Ranganathan have ceased trading with immediate effect after the business went into liquidation.

Managing Director Sean Coughlan and Romesh confirmed the sad news on their social media pages on Tuesday, with the latter saying “gutted isn’t the word”.

Rising costs, including national insurance contributions, business rates, spikes in fuel prices and poor footfall during recent heatwaves, have forced the chain to close its doors after 89 years.

The family-run business, which had been operating since 1937, had stores across south London, Surrey, Kent and West Sussex.
