Scores of our region's schools are set to host polling stations in next week's General Election .
It it is not required that a school shuts while acting as a polling station - and so far the indications are that the vast majority of schools will stay open.
The ECHO has already brought you details of what each party is promising, the full list of candidates you can vote for, and a comprehensive breakdown of the issues this election hinges on.

And here is a full list of Merseyside schools that will close so those all-important votes can be cast.
Liverpool
In Liverpool 55 schools will be used as polling stations on Thursday, but just four of these will close for the day.
These are:

Whitefield Primary School, Boundary Lane
St. Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School, Aviemore Road
Wirral
In Wirral 47 schools will be used as polling station and of these, a huge 39 will close for the day.

Sefton:
There are just five Sefton schools being used as polling stations and all will remain open to pupils on the day.
Knowsley
In Knowsley 12 schools are being used as polling stations, and three have confirmed they will close, at least in part, on December 12.
These are:
St Anne’s RC Primary School, Marina Crescent, Huyton
Prescot Primary School, Maryville Rd, Prescot
It is not yet known if Knowsley Lane Primary School in Huyton will close or not, and parents are advised to contact the school directly.
St Helens
In St Helens 35 schools will be used as polling stations.
But a spokesman for St Helens Council said it was unknown which schools would be closed, and that their understanding is that "most will remain open, but if they are to close, the school would have informed parents/guardians."
