Restaurant chain Byron is to reopen 20 branches next week as restrictions are further eased across England.
The company said outlets in Bluewater, Liverpool city centre, Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds are amongst dozens that will return to business from Monday – alongside the opening of its first new branch in five years.
The business said it’s hoping to bounce back from Covid restrictions and an administration that resulted in 650 job cuts and 31 permanent closures last year.
From next week, its formerly shut down Covent Garden restaurant will return to the public with free burgers to mark the occasion.
Diners arriving between 3pm and 5pm will be able to get their hands on a free Byrzn, Cali Cheese or Clucky burger - on a first come, first served basis.
A new £13.95 ‘freedom burger’ will also be on the menu from next week, aptly named to celebrate the easing of lockdown.
Made using the new 6oz Beef Patty, the burger is layered with melted Monterey Jack cheese, Byron’s special slaw, pickles, horseradish mayo and crispy onions.
And for those still in need of a burger fix at home, Byron has launched two new options on Deliveroo.
The double freedom burger (£16.95) will be joined by a new chicken freedom burger (£13.95). Both will feature buttermilk fried chicken breast topped with horseradish based slaw.

Byron said new outlets will also reopen in Wembley town centre on May 27 and Central St Giles in June as part of a re-growth plan.
Richard Danks, Byron brand director, said “We can’t wait to welcome guests back for indoor dining to try our beastly new Freedom Burger.
"The team have worked hard to create something that celebrates our restaurants being fully up and running again, and we can assure you the Freedom Burger does just that - it tastes like lockdown never happened!”.
