Full list as Ikea confirms it is reopening 19 stores including Warrington

Ikea has confirmed today it is reopening 19 of its stores across England and Northern Ireland.

The stores will begin to reopen from June 1 and will be operating a number of safety measures including social distancing wardens patrolling its shop floors.

Other measures include customers limits inside similar to what is in place at supermarkets.

Restaurants and play areas will remain closed but the food market will reopen for customers to make food like Swedish meatballs at home reports BelfastLive.

Last week rumours began circulating that the Swedish-based company was planning to reopen stores. At the time IKEA did confirm to the ECHO it was looking forward to welcoming customers back to stores, in line with guidance from the UK Government.

A spokesperson also confirmed extensive planning had been carried out to ensure strict safety measures across stores.

Stores in Scotland and Wales will remain closed, in line with Government coronavirus guidance.

Ikea said the 19 sites reopening from June 1 will be:

  • Nottingham
  • Belfast
  • Manchester
  • Warrington
