Full Leeds United squad revealed for Sheffield Wednesday trip with late fitness boosts

Two fitness boosts have been the major shots in the arm for Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa in the days running up to Sheffield Wednesday and Hillsborough.

Against all expectations, captain Liam Cooper is set to return for the Whites in South Yorkshire, while Jamie Shackleton, on schedule, also comes into contention.

Adam Forshaw and Pablo Hernandez remain out, but Bielsa’s bench will be significantly stronger than it was non Tuesday in Lancashire.

Cooper is expected to come straight into the starting line-up for Gaetano Berardi, but Shackleton’s chances of displacing Stuart Dallas are less clear.

It is likely Robbie Gotts and Leif Davis will drop out of the matchday 18 to make room for the returning faces.

Illan Meslier should see himself out of the 18 again with Jack Clarke, also a loanee, providing a wide option from the bench in Hernandez’s absence.

Full Leeds United squad: Luke Ayling, Barry Douglas, Ben White, Liam Cooper, Patrick Bamford, Ezgjan Alioski, Tyler Roberts, Kiko Casilla, Eddie Nketiah, Stuart Dallas, Helder Costa, Jack Harrison, Kalvin Phillips, Gaetano Berardi, Kamil Miazek, Mateusz Klich, Jamie Shackleton, Jack Clarke.
