Full Leeds United squad ahead of Burnley clash sees Marcelo Bielsa picking the bones in defence

Amidst an unfolding defensive crisis, Diego Llorente being in contention for today's game at Elland Road could be welcome respite for Marcelo Bielsa.

Liam Cooper's injury against Manchester United meant Leeds finished the 6-2 mauling with Leif Davis and Luke Ayling in central defence, a partnership Bielsa will likely be looking to avoid against the abrasive and troublesome Burnley.

The Clarets boast one of the most physical outfits in the division and will certainly be looking to rough up any fledgling defenders in the Whites' back-line who may not yet be well-versed in the ways of Sean Dyche's men.

How will Bielsa improve defence without impacting attack?

It will be a physical battle, and the presence of 6ft 1in Llorente or 6ft 3in Pascal Struijk will allay many of the fears Marcelo Bielsa may have felt when Cooper was withdrawn last week.

"Cooper has a strain in his abdominals and Llorente is in conditions to play again," Bielsa revealed in his pre-match press conference earlier this week.

Bielsa's discussions with the media were dominated by his responses to questions surrounding the 6-2 defeat last weekend, but he will undoubtedly have prepared for the task at hand as diligently as usual.

There were no indications of any injuries picked up in training or post-Old Trafford apart from Cooper's problem, meaning the Leeds squad will be well-stocked in every other area except the defence.

An impressive display against Fulham's U-23s earlier this week for Charlie Cresswell could see him added to the bench with new rules meaning Leeds are afforded additional bodies in reserve.

Leeds United squad versus Burnley: Illan Meslier, Kiko Casilla, Jamie Shackleton, Stuart Dallas, Diego Llorente, Luke Ayling, Leif Davis, Charlie Cresswell, Pascal Struijk, Ezgjan Alioski, Raphinha, Helder Costa, Tyler Roberts, Rodrigo Moreno, Mateusz Klich, Kalvin Phillips, Pablo Hernandez, Jack Harrison, Ian Poveda, Patrick Bamford
