Full extent of Kevin Hart's injuries revealed as he 'goes through hell'

Kevin Hart is "going through hell" as details of his injuries are revealed after the devastating car crash.

The 40-year-old actor and comedian fractured his spine in three places after the car he was travelling in, left Malibu's Mulholland Highway.

The 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, which was Hart's birthday present to himself in July, was totally destroyed in the crash which saw his friend Jared Black injured.

Black’s fiancée, Rebecca Broxterman, who was in the back seat, managed to leave the wreckage with minor injuries.

Hart had surgery in Los Angeles on Sunday night, which fused the fractures. TMZ has reported that there were two in the thoracic part of his spine and one in the lumbar.

The surgery has been hailed a success but sources have told TMZ that Hart is "going through hell," and will remain heavily medicated for a while.

There was a brief worry surrounding the lumbar fracture, as this can make walking difficult and can lead to paralysis, but Hart is expected to make a full recovery.

In the immediate aftermath of the crash, Hart's team had taken the Jumanji star to his home, rather than hospital, as they hadn't realised the state of his injuries.

In the audio released of the 911 call made from Hart's house, an unidentified woman said he was "not coherent at all."

She then revealed that "he can't move" though she was clear in saying that he was "breathing."

Alcohol has been ruled out as a factor in the crash by officials and police are still investigating the accident.

Pictures showed the devastating damage to Kevin's 720bhp muscle car which he nicknamed Menace.

The roof of the vehicle appeared to be either completely caved on or missing, and there was severe damage to the bodywork.

The front wheels also appeared to be hanging off.

It's said it's a miracle that Kevin and the two other people in the car survived the collision, which happened just before 1am on Sunday.

The rare vehicle ended up in a ditch about 10 feet off the winding road after it smashed through a wooden fence.
