Ireland finished last at this year’s Eurovision finals tallies have revealed.
Irish entry Sarah McTernan received the lowest number of votes of all countries who participated in this year’s contest.
The county Clare songstress performed her song 22 in the second semi final on Thursday but failed to progress to the final.
The 25-year-old received just 16 points as a combined score between the public vote and judges score - the lowest of any act to compete this year.
Bookies favourite The Netherlands took home the overall title and rights to host next year’s competition for their song Arcade performed by Duncan Laurence.
Italy took second place overall followed by Russia in third while our neighbours in the UK finished in 26th place.
Irish televoters gave top points to Norway followed by Australia and then The Netherlands.

The Netherlands also won the second semi final while Australia topped the results poll on the first night with Zero Gravity.
Points are allocated based on combining public votes and those of national judges and though The Netherlands won the contest the judges placed them 3rd favouring Sweden for the top spot.
Speaking to RTE after the semifinal McTernan said she was happy with her performance.
She said: “I wanted to be able to look back and be happy and be comfortable with the performance myself so you know what, I was happy”.
"All the team worked so hard and they’re absolutely incredible and things don’t always go your way but we’re looking on the bright side."
While we have not been successful in recent years, Ireland continues to hold the record for most Eurovision wins with 7 victories.
Of those 7 victories 6 occurred during the 1980’s and 1990’s with Dana winning with “All Kinds of Everything” in 1970.
Last year’s Irish entrant Ryan O’Shaughnessy was the first representative to get to the final since 2013.
