Full Chelsea squad revealed for Brighton clash as Thomas Tuchel faces N'Golo Kante wait

Chelsea will be looking to keep tabs with Premier League title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool this evening as they face Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Blues welcome the Seagulls to Stamford Bridge as the hosts chase their first home victory since December 11 - where they edged Leeds United 3-2.

However, Thomas Tuchel could be without some key players for the Premier League clash, with the fitness of N'Golo Kante an issue for the Chelsea boss.

Kante was one of the standout performers on Boxing Day as the Blues beat Aston Villa, but the France international was taken off after an injury problem emerged.

Kante did, however, train on Tuesday, which bodes well ahead of tonight's match.

Chelsea could also be without Thiago Silva, who was substituted for Andreas Christensen after feeling his hamstring at Villa Park.

Tuchel said this after the win in the Midlands: "N'Golo is very painful in exactly the same spot where he had his injury versus Juventus.

"With Thiago it was his hamstring. Hopefully he got out before it became an injury and from there we try to continue and find a new squad and strong squad on Wednesday."

Kai Havertz could return, though, with the Germany international being unwell over the last few weeks - with an illness that is believed not to be Covid-related.

Havertz, like Kante, trained at Cobham on Tuesday - meaning the former Bayer Leverkusen star could be in the squad for the clash this evening.

There is no sign that Timo Werner will return this evening after he tested positive for Covid earlier in the month. Ben Chilwell is ruled out for the season.

Here is the squad Tuchel is set to have available to him at Stamford Bridge...

Goalkeepers: Edouard Mendy, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marcus Bettinelli.

Defenders: Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Malang Sarr, Trevoh Chalobah, Marcos Alonso, Cesar Azpilicueta, Reece James.

Midfielders: Mateo Kovacic, Saul Niguez, Jorginho, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ross Barkley, Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech.

Forwards: Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Romelu Lukaku.
