Full Chelsea squad for Manchester City clash revealed

Chelsea will be aiming to build on their 2-1 away triumph against Aston Villa on Sunday when they welcome Manchester City to Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening.

Following the coronavirus shutdown period, the Blues made a winning start to the Premier League's return at the weekend, as second-half goals from Christian Pulisic and Olivier Giroud saw Frank Lampard's side recover from 1-0 down to secure a second straight victory.

City, meanwhile, will arrive in West London full of confidence after a blistering start to the Premier League's return, seeing off both Arsenal and Burnley by scorelines of 3-0 and 5-0, respectively.

Ahead of tonight's clash with Pep Guardiola's side, Chelsea, who were narrowly beaten 2-1 by City in the reverse fixture at the Etihad Stadium back in November, will be boosted by the return of central-midfielder Jorginho.

The Italy international missed the victory against Villa through suspension after collecting 10 yellow cards in the Premier League this season.

His return to the fray will provide Lampard with a selection headache, as he has no shortage of options in central midfield, with the likes of N'Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben-Loftus-Cheek, Billy Gilmour and Ross Barkley all chomping at the bit to bag a midfield berth.

Elsewhere, Lampard could hand a starting berth to Pulisic after the former Borrusia Dortmund winger made a telling impact following his cameo appearance against Villa.

Meanwhile, Lampard, who has no fresh injury suspension issues to deal with, remains without Fikayo Tomori (ankle), Callum Hudson-Odoi (ankle) and Dutch midfielder Marco van Ginkel (knee).

Thus, it is safe to say that Lampard is not short on options, especially when he now has a match-day squad of 20 to choose, as he is, of course, allowed to name nine substitutes between now and the end of the campaign.

Full Chelsea squad: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Willy Caballero; Cesar Azpilicueta, Reece James, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma, Marcos Alonso, Emerson; Jorginho, N'Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ross Barkley, Billy Gilmour, Mason Mount; Willian, Pedro, Christian Pulisic; Tammy Abraham, Olivier Giroud, Michy Bastshuayi and Faustino Anjorin.
