Full breakdown of latest Covid-19 figures for Northern Ireland

Eight more people have tested positive for the coronavirus in the past 24 hours according to Department of Health figures.

The death toll in Northern Ireland stands at 556 after no deaths were announced today.

The DoH says that 333 of the deaths have happened in a hospital setting, 187 in residential/care homes, 21 in the community and a further 15 are not recorded.

A total of 5,876 people have tested positive for the virus, with 66 of these being in the last seven days.

There are six inpatients who have the coronavirus, and two people are in ICU.

1,493 patients have been discharged from hospital.

The figures also say that there are six current outbreaks of the virus in care homes in NI, and nine which are suspected to be.

Belfast has seen the highest number of coronavirus deaths, with 162 people passing from the virus.

This is followed by Antrim and Newtownabbey and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, where 59 people have died.

The majority of deaths have involved patients over the age of 80, with 372 people dying.

159 people have died aged between 60 and 79. 23 have died aged between 40 and 59 and one person aged between 20 and 39 has passed away.
