Full Bolton Wanderers v Crewe Alexandra injury news ahead of EFL Trophy tie

Bolton Wanderers defender Reiss Greenidge is due to miss tomorrow evening's EFL Trophy clash against Crewe Alexandra but is likely to be available for the League Two curtain raiser this weekend.

The Trotters take on the League One side at the University of Bolton Stadium in Group C in the Northern half of the draw.

Wanderers will be without long term absentee Dennis Politic, as well as Liam Edwards and Muhammadu Faal due to knee and foot injuries respectively.

Greenidge has also been out due to a hamstring strain, and Wanderers head coach Ian Evatt has revealed that, though the summer signing is likely to be unavailable against Crewe, he will be ready for Saturday's match against Forest Green Rovers.

Evatt said: “He had a bit of a hamstring strain. Reiss is probably the quickest player at the club and being 6ft 7, he’s a big physical specimen and I’m excited for you to see him.

"We didn’t really want to take any risks with it. It was very minor but it’s one of them that he’s so quick that if he gets a bad hamstring injury, it can really hamper him so we had to take care of him.

"He’s back training with us today full-time and will be available, probably not tomorrow, but definitely Saturday."

The son of Bolton legend Jussi Jaaskelainen, Will, will not be among the Crewe squad due to being away on international duty with Finland.

Crewe boss David Artell has confirmed that the nine senior players in his squad with injuries are 'unlikely' to be fit for the game against Wanderers.
