Full Arsenal squad for Premier League clash against West Ham United revealed

Arsenal will be looking to make it two wins from two at the beginning of the new Premier League season.

The Gunners are back in action a week after beating Fulham 3-0 as they take on a West Ham United side who were beaten 2-0 in their opener at home to Newcastle United.

It finished 1-0 to the hosts in the corresponding fixture last season - one of the final games before football was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic - and Mikel Arteta admits he wasn't best pleased with the performance from his side on that occasion.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signs new Arsenal deal ending links with a move away

"Well, it was ages ago. But obviously when I started to look back at the game and what we did, I think we were lucky that day to win the game," he said in his pre-match press conference.

"They created a lot of issues, we did not control certain important aspects of West Ham's threats and we have to be better tomorrow.

"Well they have many strengths and some weaknesses, like we all have.

"I know David, the manager, really well and I know what he will be trying to do tomorrow to hurt us as well.

"It will be a tough game and I am expecting a difficult battle tomorrow."

Ahead of this evening's clash against the Hammers, Arteta will be without as many as six first-team players as Pablo Mari, Shkodran Mustafi, Emile Smith Rowe, Calum Chambers, Sokratis, and Gabriel Martinelli miss out through injury.

William Saliba is unlikely to make the matchday squad after featuring for the U23's last night but - technically is available - and David Luiz is back in full training and could be in contention for at least a place on the bench.

With that in mind, Arteta has no shortage of options as he should have a near full-strength squad to choose from with no other fresh injury concerns
