Fulham XI vs Arsenal: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Premier League today

Willian misses out for Fulham at Arsenal today.

Joao Palhinha, however, returns to the starting lineup.

“Not different news from last week”, Silva said about Fulham’s fitness ahead of their meeting with Mikel Arteta’s side.

“We had some players on the bench last game because they were not fully fit for the 90 minutes. It’s good to see some of them coming back and training with the team. We have a slight doubt on Willian. Joao [Palhinha] had all the week with his teammates.

“Willian had some problems during the pre-season in his achilles. It’s something about the intensity of the pre-season and starting the pre-season late, because he hadn’t signed the contract by the time pre-season started. The impact of the first sessions made a huge impact on both achilles.”

Silva added: “We are treating him. Let’s hope if he’s not going to be involved against Arsenal, the next game he can be involved. It’s not something really serious.”

Elsewhere, Tim Ream will miss the match after his sending off against Brentford last week, with Silva confirming new signing Calvin Bassey will start instead.

Starting Fulham XI: Leno; Tete, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Palhinha, Reed; Wilson, Pereira, Decordova-Reid; Jimenez

Subs: Rodak, Tosin, Mbabu, Reed, Cairney, Harris, Traore, Muniz, Vinicius

Time and date: 3pm BST on Saturday, August 26, 2023

Venue: Emirates Stadium
