Scott Parker’s side have enjoyed something of a resurgence this month after a such a disastrous start to the season. The Cottagers are now unbeaten in their last three games and were bitterly unlucky against Newcastle last time out, with Joachim Anderson’s controversial red card since overturned on appeal. They will have to manage without their head coach in the dugout, though, after a member of Parker’s household tested positive for Covid-19.
Southampton will provide imposing opposition, with Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side in tremendous form thus far. The Saints have taken 24 points from their 14 games so far, leaving them just seven points adrift of leaders Liverpool. They will have to manage without prolific striker Danny Ings, though, who has been ruled out with injury, but Che Adams and Theo Walcott have already proved they can thrive in the England international’s absence.
