Fulham could throw Lazar Markovic into action against Manchester United on Saturday, but Havard Nordtveit is set to have to wait for his debut.
Markovic joined on a free transfer from Liverpool on deadline day and has trained with his new team-mates this week ahead of the game at Craven Cottage.
Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri hopes Markovic can strike up a partnership with fellow Serbian and former team-mate Aleksandar Mitrovic to help save the club from relegation.
In their statement to announce the signing of Markovic, the club confirmed they had received "very good recommendations" from Mitrovic regarding his compatriot.
Fulham, though, are likely to be without Nordtveit.
The on-loan Hoffenheim defender, who has previous experience of English football with London rivals Arsenal and West Ham, has not played since he fractured his ankle in November.
Markovic will wear No30 at Fulham, while Nordtveit has been handed the No16 shirt.
