Fulham vs Leeds United LIVE: Premier League result, final score and reaction

A general view of Craven Cottage - (Getty Images)

Follow live coverage as Fulham face Leeds United today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Liverpool look to fend off competition from Arsenal, Manchester City and more.

The race for the Champions League places should also be a compelling battle, with a fifth place possible for English teams. Manchester United’s latest rebuild under Ruben Amorim sets expectations high once more after a dismal season last time out.

Meanwhile, it’s Burnley, Leeds United and Sunderland who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Fulham vs Leeds United

17:04

Fulham win it at the death! A huge three points for the Cottagers, who really did not turn up until the second half. It was a moment of madness that decided the game, as Leeds left-back Gudmundsson headed into his own net, sending Craven Cottage into a frenzy. The home side took almost 60 minutes to register a shot on goal and finished with just 0.70 xG. Leeds put in a solid shift and had chances throughout the game, but were stifled in the second half as Fulham found their rhythm. The Cottagers move up to 10th in the league, leapfrogging Leeds, who now sit 14th, with a 0.58 xG reflecting their performance. Fulham face rivals Brentford next, while Leeds travel to Wolves in a game they must try to win. That is all we have time for this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye!

FULL-TIME: FULHAM 1-0 LEEDS UNITED

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:58

GOOOOAAAAALLL! FULHAM HAVE WON IT! What a cruel end to the game for Leeds and Gudmundsson, whose header awkwardly redirects behind Darlow and into the net to give Fulham the lead. Fulham had been pressing, but it felt like something out of the ordinary would be needed to split these teams, and that's what has happened.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:56

KEVIN AGAIN! The Brazilian strikes from outside the box, forcing Darlow into a huge save as the ball goes out for a corner.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:53

Fulham are looking the more likely going forward, while Leeds will surely be happy to take a point at this stage.

Fulham vs Leeds United

A like-for-like swap up top as Jimenez replaces Muniz.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:48

Cairney replaces the recently booked Berge and takes the captain’s armband as he enters the pitch.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:49

The fourth official has indicated a minimum of six minutes of additional time.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:47

Kevin has been extremely lively since his introduction. He danced down the left before finding Traore with a switch across the box, however, the Spaniard headed over the bar!

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:47

Gnonto subsequently replaces James. Leeds will be hoping it is not a serious injury for the Welshman.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:47

James is down for Leeds and currently receiving treatment, having appeared to pull up with no one near him.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:45

Calvert-Lewin is substituted off in his first league start for Leeds. It has not been the debut he had hoped for, but he will be keen to contribute throughout the season. Nmecha is on in his place.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:45

Harrison comes on for Okafor, who had just been booked. The Swiss forward has had a decent game, but Harrison will provide fresh legs for the visitors.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:45

Kevin again tries to slip one across the face of goal, but Darlow reads it well and claims it - much to his relief.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:43

GREAT CHANCE FOR FULHAM! Substitute Kevin finds Sessegnon in the box, who flicks it onto Lukic. The midfielder acrobatically fires at goal, but it just bounces past the post. A huge chance for Fulham, who have shown much more this half.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:41

As we enter the final ten minutes, can either side find the opener and potentially the winner?

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:39

ONTO THE POST! Smith Rowe is laid off by Muniz and charges at Rodon, who keeps backing off. He eventually finds a gap to shoot at Darlow, who just manages to push it onto the post. Fulham attackers are starting to find space. However, the move is eventually pulled back for a foul on Muniz.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:41

Berge is penalised for a foul on James. The referee had no choice but to book him, as it was developing into a dangerous move for the visitors.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:41

Farke makes another change, with James replacing the American Aaronson.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:41

Iwobi is replaced by Kevin, who makes his Fulham debut this afternoon!

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:40

Fulham have conceded a penalty in each of their last five Premier League games, with no team ever having done so in six. Could this match be settled by a spot-kick?

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:39

Muniz sees his right-footed effort stopped by Darlow. Fulham are starting to knock on the door.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:32

Gudmundsson tries to chest the ball back to Darlow, but it lacks the pace and looks to hit his hand in the process, prompting Fulham fans to shout for handball. He turns inside the area and is fouled by Traore. It clearly does not hit his hand, and he does well to win the free-kick in the end.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:25

Okafor is booked for a clear tug on Tete's shirt. You do not get many easier cards than that!

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:25

Smith Rowe receives the ball from Iwobi and attempts a flick to redirect it, but it has too much power and Darlow collects.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:21

Sessegnon fouls Longstaff, relieving some of the pressure on Daniel Farke's side. Fulham finally look like they are here to play.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:18

Adama replaces Wilson on the right-hand side and will inject plenty of pace into the attack.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:18

Smith Rowe comes on for King. The club's record-signing midfielder will be keen to create and show why he should be starting in this Fulham team.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:17

WILSON IS DENIED! The free-kick from 25 yards out sees Wilson strike with his left foot towards the far corner, but Darlow gets across well and pushes it out for a corner. Fulham finally register a shot - perhaps the spark they need.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:15

Muniz is finally involved, holding the ball up cleverly and backing into Struijk to win a free-kick in a promising position, especially given Wilson's prowess.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:13

Marco Silva's side registered exactly 0.0 xG in the first half, a stat that the home fans will find hard to stomach. Leeds only managed 0.24 xG, but will be determined to continue shutting Fulham out and snatch the opener in the second half. Opta's Live Win Probability model still favours Fulham to win, but the draw now stands at 32%.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:13

Not a lot to report here at Craven Cottage, with the scoreline 0-0 at half-time. After 45 minutes, the home side, Fulham, have yet to register a single attempt on goal. There has been little to separate the two teams, but Leeds have created the clearer chances, notably Calvert-Lewin, whose header went straight at Leno, and Longstaff, whose effort crashed against the bar just before the whistle blew. Fulham have shown far too much respect to the newly promoted side and lack any real intensity. If this continues, there will be only one winner - the visitors.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:14

Bogle drives Leeds up the pitch and fires a low shot from the right, which is comfortably claimed by Leno. He quickly distributes, urging Fulham forward.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:14

Leeds work it extremely well through Bogle and Longstaff, before Okafor is tackled and Leeds win the corner. Fulham are under pressure here. It has to be only a matter of time before we see some changes for the home side.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:14

Iwobi and Sessegnon combine down the same left-hand side where Leeds had been finding joy. Sessegnon's cross poses a threat but is dealt with, as Fulham continue to search for their first shot.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:09

LEEDS PUSHING! Aaronson receives the ball after a low cross, and his toe-poked effort is saved by Leno before being scrambled clear. Leeds' clearest chance so far.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:06

Sessegnon fouls Aaronson in front of the travelling Leeds fans, as the rain crashes down over South West London.

Fulham vs Leeds United

16:02

Fulham kick off the second half, in desperate search of a much-improved performance.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:50

HALF-TIME: FULHAM 0-0 LEEDS UNITED

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:49

And just like that, the first half fizzles out, and it is half-time.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:46

Leeds have lost their last eight Premier League matches in London, with their last victory coming on the final day of the 2021-22 season. However, it is still all to play for here.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:46

WOODWORK! A rocket from Longstaff! Calvert-Lewin wins his header and the ball bounces free to Longstaff, as he smashes it with plenty of venom, but it ricochets off the woodwork and into the crowd. Leeds are looking the side more likely...

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:44

Hello and welcome to this live text commentary of Fulham’s clash with Leeds United at Craven Cottage

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:44

CHANCE FOR LEEDS! The resulting corner is initially dealt with by Leno, but Aaronson lobs the ball back in from just outside the box. Calvert-Lewin, making his Leeds Premier League debut, heads straight into Leno's palms! A real let off for the Cottagers, as the Englishman should be doing better...

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:44

The free-kick proves harmless and is dealt with without real concern, as Darlow is knocked to the floor by Muniz. A chance wasted by Silva's men.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:45

Tete fouls Ampadu as Fulham try to gain control and push into the Leeds final third. A rather silly foul that resets the Cottagers progress.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:45

Fulham are yet to register a single shot in this match. You feel Marco Silva will be looking to his bench as early as half-time if this continues.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:45

Both sides appear timid in their approach this afternoon, with neither team showing the authority to take the game by the scruff of the neck and open the scoring. The atmosphere is suffering as a result, with Craven Cottage remaining quiet.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:37

As the clock hits 31 minutes, Fulham and Leeds supporters applaud in tribute to Fulham fan Abeeku "Beku" Lewis, who sadly lost his battle with cancer recently at the age of just 31.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:36

Wales head coach Craig Bellamy is in attendance this afternoon, keeping an eye on some of the Welsh talent on both sides, ahead of important World Cup qualifying fixtures.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:34

It is the left side again that is proving effective for the Whites, as the ball drops to Stach just inside the area but is well blocked by a charging Fulham defender. Leeds will be the happier of the two sides thus far.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:33

Aaronson dances around in Fulham's penalty area but fails to create any real space. The ball is then lost on the edge of the box, much to Daniel Farke's frustration.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:31

Fulham's first corner is a wasted opportunity, with the delivery failing to find a Fulham player. Leeds will be more than happy as the ball is back into safety at the halfway line.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:28

The ball is launched high into the sky, and Muniz brings it down on his chest inside the Leeds box, but is intercepted at the decisive moment as the ball goes out for a corner.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:27

The Leeds following are making the most noise in the stadium, trying to urge their team on to score the opener.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:26

The left-hand side looks the likeliest route of goals for Leeds going forward, as Gudmundsson exploits the space but fails to find anyone in the box.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:23

Wilson tries a one-two with King, but tumbles as he tries to stride into the area. Leeds are holding firm at the back while looking to take their chances on the counter.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:22

Despite playing only 52 minutes of football this season before this game, striker Calvert-Lewin has registered more xG than any other Whites player. Keep feeding him the chances - he will eventually take them.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:21

Okafor shows plenty of pace down the left wing and is forced out by Andersen for a corner. The first of the game goes to the visitors.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:20

18-year-old King tries a clever flick just outside the box, which almost works perfectly, but Muniz is not on the same wavelength and the ball is quickly dealt with by the covering Leeds defender.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:13

Speaking of the devil, Stach is in the book early after dragging down Lukic as he tried to get into the Leeds box. The home side have a dangerous free kick on the right just outside the area.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:13

Leeds will be keen to get summer signing Stach on the ball, as only Bruno Fernandes has created more chances than his 10 so far this season.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:13

Sessegnon pushes high on the left and keeps the ball superbly, evading two or three Leeds players. The Cottagers win a throw-in near the corner flag.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:08

Lukic commits the first foul of the afternoon, which if fitting considering the Serbian is already leading the charts for fouls this season.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:12

The free-kick is overhit but quickly recycled by the Leeds players, who retain possession as they look for a way forward. The visitors have seen more of the ball in the opening proceedings.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:11

Not much sign of early intensity, as the game starts in a fairly scrappy fashion. Gudmundsson stands over a free-kick on the left flank.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:03

Fulham gain possession and try to play a long ball into the Leeds area, but Darlow is there to claim. A good catch to open his Leeds profile in the Premier League.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:02

Leeds get the game under way, kicking from right to left!

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:00

Leeds make a handful of changes as Daniel Farke shuffles his pack. Calvert-Lewin and Okafor are handed their full league debuts, with Aaronson completing the front three. Captain Ampadu is set to push higher up the pitch and make up a midfield trio.

Fulham vs Leeds United

15:01

As the players step out onto the Craven Cottage turf, Opta’s Live Win Probability model has Fulham as favourites with a 56.6% chance of victory, while Leeds are rated at just 22%.

Fulham vs Leeds United

14:31

Marco Silva makes just one change from the defeat to Chelsea before the international break, with Wilson replacing Castagne on the right to add more attacking intent. Smith Rowe stays on the bench, despite being one of only two Fulham players to have scored in the league this season.

Fulham vs Leeds United

14:31

FULHAM SUBS: Benjamin Lecomte, Timothy Castagne, Issa Diop, Antonee Robinson, Tom Cairney, Emile Smith Rowe, Adama Traore, Kevin, Raul Jimenez.

Fulham vs Leeds United

14:31

FULHAM (4-2-3-1): Bernd Leno; Kenny Tete, Joachim Andersen, Calvin Bassey, Ryan Sessegnon; Sander Berge, Sasa Lukic; Harry Wilson, Joshua King, Alex Iwobi; Rodrigo Muniz.

Fulham vs Leeds United

14:31

Leeds’ return to the Premier League has been a mixed bag. An opening-day win over Everton offered early optimism, but that was quickly halted by a heavy 5–0 defeat at Arsenal, followed by a goalless draw with Newcastle. The last four meetings between the two sides have produced 18 goals - a trend that could continue given the defensive struggles for both sides.

Fulham vs Leeds United

14:30

Fulham head into this one in search of their first Premier League win of the season. Score draws with Brighton and Manchester United were followed by a contentious 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge, leaving the Cottagers 18th and with a statement to make. Marco Silva’s side have gone 12 league matches without a clean sheet - a worrying run that lays bare their defensive fragility.
