Fulham are unwilling to sell Rodrigo Muniz after rejecting Atalanta’s bid for the striker.

Muniz is attracting interest from the Serie A side and reports on Wednesday morning claimed an offer worth £34million (€40m) had been lodged.

Standard Sport understands that a bid has been dismissed.

Fulham and Atalanta are yet to enter club-to-club talks, with the Premier League side adamant they want to keep hold of Muniz.

Only a replacement being signed could lead to Muniz departing Fulham this summer.

Muniz scored 11 goals last season despite largely playing second fiddle to Raul Jimenez.

Atalanta are in the market to sign a replacement for Mateo Retegui, last season’s top scorer in Serie A who has joined Saudi side Al-Qadsiah for a reported fee of £56m.

The Italian outfit have also been linked with Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Fulham are not ready to entertain Muniz’s sale as the club are instead focusing on strengthening their ranks.

Marco Silva is desperate to bolster his squad this summer, and earlier on Wednesday saw a bid for winger Kevin rejected by Shakhtar Donetsk.

A second bid is expected which would surpass the club-record £34m fee paid for Emile Smith Rowe last season.

Fulham’s sole summer signing to date is the £500,000 arrival of goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte from Montpellier.
