Fulham are hoping to sign Southampton midfielder Harrison Reed before the transfer window shuts on Thursday afternoon.
The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers, playing both as a central midfielder and down the right flank, and has attracted interest from a number of Championship clubs.
Reed had previously claimed he wanted to move to another Premier League side after falling out of favour at St Mary's, however, The Independent understands that Fulham are currently making a push for the player.
Reed came through the academy at Southampton and made his first-team debut for the club in 2013 before spending a season on loan at Norwich.
Norwich and Burnley were both reported to have held an interest in the player earlier in the window, however, no significant attempts were made to sign the player.
