Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic fighting to be fit for play-off final vs Brentford

Fulham striker is Aleksandar Mitrovic battling to recover from a hamstring problem and be fit for tomorrow’s Championship play-off final against Brentford.

The Championship Golden Boot winner, who scored 26 goals in the regular season, missed both legs of Fulham’s play-off semi-final victory over Cardiff.

Mitrovic trained at Motspur Park over the weekend and Fulham boss Scott Parker and his medical team are doing everything they can to have him available for the Wembley showdown.

The Serbian watched his team-mates from the stands on Thursday as Fulham secured their place in the final, with Parker stating afterwards the 25-year-old had been close to featuring but that it would have been a “massive risk”.

Bees boss Thomas Frank has a fully-fit squad to choose from, meaning he will have to decide which two of Josh Dasilva, Emiliano Marcondes and Mathias Jensen to start in midfield.

Dasilva has been the club’s best midfielder this season, scoring 10 League goals, but Marcondes has made a huge impact since the coronavirus restart, while Jensen had his best game for the club in the semi-final, second leg against Swansea.
