Fabio Carvalho looks set to become the latest star from Fulham 's conveyor belt of talent to move on to bigger things amid reports Liverpool have entered talks for the teenage sensation.
The 19-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season with the Championship 's runaway leaders so far this campaign, netting seven strikes in 19 outings for the Cottagers.
Having closely monitored the hotshot in recent months, the Reds are being widely reported to have now submitted a bid in the region of £5million as they attempt to snap up the attacker before Monday's transfer deadline.
Should Carvalho move on to pastures new, he would become the latest in a long line of talent produced at Fulham to depart the club, and the player will surely draw inspiration from the success of those who have gone before him.
Moussa Dembele, Ryan Sessegnon and Harvey Elliott are arguably the three standout names to have progressed through the west London side's prestigious academy in recent years and their value has since soared.
According to Transfermarkt, their combined worth currently stands at a total of £42m, with Dembele valued at £15.3m and both Sessegnon and Elliott priced at £13.5m apiece.
Though it remains to be seen whether Carvalho's name will be added to the Fulham exodus, the club will surely be keen to avoid history repeating itself having ultimately lost Dembele and Elliot for a fraction of their current worth.
The Fulham midfielder's current contract expires at the end of this season, leaving the club with a difficult decision to make: sell one of their prized assets for a mere £5m this month or run the risk of losing him for pittance in the summer.
Should Carvalho fail to sign a new deal at Craven Cottage, his next club would be expected to pay a compensation fee in the summer, a figure likely to be far less than the offer currently tabled by Jurgen Klopp's Reds.
The compensation route is one that Fulham will know all too well having lost Dembele to Celtic in 2016 for a mere £500,000 after he refused to renew his contract and Elliott to Liverpool three years later for a total fee of £4.3m after he signed his first professional deal at Anfield.

Sessegnon, on the other hand, was moved on for a far more eye-catching fee, with Tottenham shelling out £25m for his services in 2019, in a deal that also saw Josh Onomah go the other way.
While the Cottagers will no doubt harbour concerns of Carvalho's future, the player himself is reportedly attracted by the prospect of joining Klopp's ranks according to Fabrizio Romano, and will take solace from those who have moved on before him.
Dembele has since gone on to enjoy success with Celtic and Lyon, most notably putting Manchester City to the sword in the Champions League with the latter.
Sessegnon has himself made waves in Europe, netting against Bayern Munich, but thus far has failed to live up to his promise with Spurs.
Fulham may still hold resentment over Elliott's exit, however the player himself has become a growing influence in Liverpool's first-team this season having proved his worth under Klopp.
Elliott's rise in particular will invariably provide Carvalho with the most hope, and he too will surely possess dreams of following in the former Fulham youngster's footsteps by succeeding at Anfield and becoming a fan favourite.
