Fulham: Rodrigo Muniz signs new five-year contract after summer transfer interest

Rodrigo Muniz has signed a new five-year contract at Fulham, keeping him at the club until June 2030.

Fulham, who began negotiations with Muniz as soon as the transfer window closed, hold the option to extend the striker’s deal by an extra year.

Muniz, who is currently sidelined with a muscle injury, was the subject of interest from Atalanta and Leeds during the summer transfer window but has now committed his long-term future to Fulham.

The 24-year-old has become a mainstay in Marco Silva’s side since an impressive run of form towards the backend of the 2023/24 season, in which he scored nine goals in Fulham’s final 16 league games.

Muniz continued that form into last season, becoming a cult hero off the bench with late winners away to Chelsea and Newcastle.

“I really want to thank God. I’m very grateful, and I would like to thank the Club for having trust in me,” Muniz said of his new contract.

“I would also like to thank my family, my friends in Brazil, and all the fans. I would like to thank everyone. It’s an amazing feeling to stay here and to have this contract and to safeguard my future.”

Vice-chairman Tony Khan also commented: “I’m thrilled that we have extended the contract of Rodrigo Muniz until at least 2030.

“He’s a great professional, revered by his teammates, staff, and Fulham supporters, and he’s scored some very important goals for the club. I’m very happy that Rodrigo will be with us for many more seasons.”
