The 22-year-old scored nine goals and provided four assists in all competitions last season, and predominantly plays off the left flank.

Shakhtar sources say Fulham’s opening offer was worth €30million (£26m) and, as expected, was turned down.

The Ukrainian giants are understood to be holding out for closer to their €50m (£43m) valuation for the Brazilian.

Fulham have also shown an interest in Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, who spent last season on loan with them.

Nelson is looking for a new club for the upcoming season and Arsenal are open to offers for him.

The winger’s preference is thought to be staying in London and he would be happy to return to Fulham.

Fulham have been quiet in the transfer window so far, but their business is expected to ramp up over the coming weeks.

Marco Silva’s side achieved a club-record number of Premier League points last season and they reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Silva is keen to kick on this season and achieve a top-half finish, with players in the squad eager to qualify for European football.
