Fulham news: Willian hails Marco Silva as one of the best managers he’s ever worked with

Fulham forward Willian has named Marco Silva as one of the best managers he’s ever worked with.

The 45-year-old has overseen a remarkable season at Craven Cottage and the club could yet amass a record points haul in the Premier League.

Three points from their final two games would see them finish on 54, one better than their current high of 53.

Last week’s win over Southampton saw Silva’s side relegate the Saints, a fate many would have predicted for the West London club this season.

Next, they host London rivals Crystal Palace before finishing the campaign away at Manchester United.

Willian, speaking to The Fulham Fix Podcast, hailed Silva as up there with Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte, Mikel Arteta and Luiz Filipe Scolari as one of the best managers he’s ever worked with.

“I think every year this club can fight for something special and Marco Silva has been brilliant this season and last season as well,” he said.

“I think I can say that he is one of the best managers I have worked with in my whole career, and it has been great to work with him.”

The club are eager to tie Silva down to a new contract amid fears rivals could activate a £6m release clause in his current deal.
