Fulham make final decision over move for Tottenham's Ryan Sessegnon after Premier League return

Fulham vice-chairman and director of football Tony Khan has confirmed the club's summer plans regarding a potential move for Tottenham ace Ryan Sessegnon.

Making a big name for himself at Craven Cottage after appearing in the first team as a 16-year-old in 2016, the England U21 international departed for north London on transfer deadline day last August.

Moving to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium carrying a hamstring injury, it wasn't until November when the youngster made his bow for the Lilywhites in the closing minutes of the 1-1 draw at Everton.

Sessegnon only appeared in a further 11 games for Spurs and his lack of football has raised question marks over his short-term future in N17 ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Following Fulham's return to the Premier League last Tuesday after one year away, the versatile player has been linked with a temporary move back across the capital so that he can continue his development in his bid to become a regular under Jose Mourinho at Tottenham.

However, Khan has now confirmed his plans ahead of next season and he has stated that the club won't be making a move for their former player.

“I am not interested," he told The Times when asked about a potential deal for Sessegnon. "Ryan already played for us in the Premier League and he didn’t do enough to keep us in there.

“We get two loans and I can’t be in the business of developing other people’s players when they don’t have time to play them.”

As Premier League rules state that clubs can sign no more than one player on loan from any one club, a switch for Sessegnon back to Craven Cottage would have raised doubts over where exactly Oliver Skipp would head out on loan.

The Spurs midfielder is keen on securing a loan deal for next campaign, with Fulham believed to be leading the race to sign the 19-year-old.

Scott Parker knows Skipp well from his time coaching Tottenham's U18s but a deal for Sessegnon would have meant that the player would have had to move elsewhere if given the green light to depart.
