Here is a look at the latest rumours doing the round in the Championship on Friday, May 24.

Pompey boss rules out approach for Bristol City striker

Portsmouth are not one of the sides who have made enquiries about signing Bristol City's forgotten striker Mo Eisa.

Robins manager Lee Johnson revealed there had been interest from several clubs in the forward who was signed from Cheltenham Town last summer.

City beat the likes of Portsmouth to the 24-year-old in 2018.

However Blues boss Kenny Jacket to The Portsmouth News: "We haven’t enquired about Mo Eisa.

"We definitely did last year when he was coming out of League Two, but it quickly went away.

"We were definitely interested but it quickly went out of our remit.

"We haven’t revisited it this summer and nor will we be.

"It won’t be one we’ll be coming into now, even wage wise it wouldn’t be possible.’

Fulham line up move for Newcastle striker

Relegated Premier League side Fulham are preparing themselves for a barrage of bids for their top asset Aleksandar Mitrovic.

According to the Evening Standard, interest in Mitrovic is high, with many sides looking for a figurehead striker but Fulham are looking for a fee of £30million for the striker.

According to the report Fulham have lined up Newcastle United front man Dwight Gayle as a potential replacement.

Tottenham launch Clarke bid

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly launched a £10m bid for Leeds talent Jack Clarke.

The in-demand winger, 18, has been monitored by Premier League clubs throughout the campaign.

Spurs have now pulled the trigger and launched an official attempt to bring him to the top flight, according to the Daily Mail.

Bielsa closing in on committing to Leeds

Leeds United's high profile manager Marcelo Bielsa is 80 per cent certain to lead the team next season.

The Elland Road outfit feared their veteran head coach would quit after failing to guide the Whites to promotion back to the Premier League in his first season at the helm.

But, following crunch talks with owner Andrea Radrizzani and director of football Victor Orta, Bielsa is ready to make another attempt at returning the Yorkshire giants to the top flight after an absence of 16 years according to The Mirror.

The Argentinian chief, 63, could have triggered a release clause in the two-year deal he penned on arrival last summer after being pipped to automatic promotion by Sheffield United, then losing in the play-offs to Derby.

But Bielsa is set to tell Radrizzani and Orta he wants to stay after getting the assurances he was seeking over transfer budgets for the summer and next January, contract renewals, and improvements to the training ground.
