Fulham fans hold 'Stop the Greed' protest over ticket prices ahead of Manchester City tie

Fulham fans have held a demonstration against ticket prices at the club ahead of their televised game with Manchester City.

The 'Stop the Greed' campaign, which was launched by Fulham fan podcast 'Fulhamish', is in response to Fulham's ticket prices which in certain areas of the Stadium, are among the most expensive in the Premier League.

They had originally planned to bring the banners into Craven Cottage for a protest in the 55th minute of the tie, but have since changed their plans after being told the banners will not be allowed inside the stadium.

Fulham fans reveal plans to protest extortionate ticket prices during game with Manchester City

Instead, the demo took place outside the ground with the 'Stop the Greed' banner being displayed outside the Cottage Gate where the players arrive, while fans have been handing out fliers which they are encouraging people to hold up in the 55th minute as part of the protest.

For a 'behind the goal' ticket at the Hammersmith End - the cheapest available at Craven Cottage - the Whites price their tickets at £45.

Those tickets aren't available for all of the games, with the higher category fixtures having prices of up to £60 for a seat at that end of the ground.

That's the third highest price in the list of the cheapest tickets available in the Premier League behind Chelsea and Manchester City.

Fulham Football Club have refused to comment on the planned protests at the match but released a statement earlier in the season on ticket prices when the Fulham Supporters' Trust criticised the prices.

It read: "There are various categories for match ticket prices in 2018/19 and these are balanced against other fixtures at Craven Cottage.

"Ticket classifications during the Premier League campaign include a ‘family fixture’ category, such as the match against Burnley earlier in the season, where adult prices ranged from £25 to £45.”

Fulham take on Manchester City on Sky Sports this lunch time and the group hope that the televised fixutre will help their campaign gain maximum exposure.
