Fulham defender fires Everton warning as Blues prepare to face relegated side

Fulham defender Cyrus Christie has fired a warning towards Everton ahead of the two sides meeting this weekend.

The Blues travel to Craven Cottage hoping to continue a strong run of form which has seen Marco Silva's side insert themselves firmly back in the race for seventh in the Premier League.

Everton have won three consecutive matches and, with a victory this weekend, would win their fourth straight Premier League game for the first time since September 2016.

However, Christie doesn't think it will be so easy.

The moment which proved Marco Silva understands Everton - and players must live up to his desire

Fulham had their relegation confirmed after a 4-1 loss to Watford at the start of this month and are already preparing for life in the Championship next season.

Everton secured a convincing 3-0 win at Goodison Park in the reverse fixture between these two sides in September - but Christie is adamant the hosts won't let that happen again.

The defender told Fulham's official website : "It’s going to be tough. As you can see their results have picked up of late and they’re quite high in the table. They have some fantastic players and a great squad. Earlier on in the season they were a little more inconsistent.

"They have a great team and we did really well against them earlier in the season where it was the same old story. We didn’t take our chances and every chance they had went into the back of the net. We have to learn from that and take the game to them.

Kurt Zouma opens door to potential Everton stay with latest transfer comments

"We need to defend well against Everton which has been the question mark this season. That goes through the whole team in defending from the front and the defending between the lines. We are at home and we need to take full advantage of that."
