Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic wants 'more fight' from his struggling side

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic says his Fulham team needs to show "more fight" but insists Monday's meeting with Huddersfield is not make or break.

Jokanovic's side have not won in the league since August, and lie 18th in the Premier League, just two points above their rock-bottom opponents.

The game is being billed by some as a relegation six pointer, and possibly a must-win if Jokanoovic is to keep to his job.

However, the Serb insists that Fulham's season will not be defined by the result at the John Smith's Stadium.

“It’s an early six-pointer at the beginning of November," he said. "[But] after the game, everything isn’t going to be done for either of these two teams.

“Some teams are satisfied with the start of the Premier League, but the situation can change quickly.

"We need more fight. We're not satisfied. The supporters aren't satisfied and are waiting for a reaction. The players must fight."

Fulham have conceded 28 goals - more than any other team in the league - as Jokanovic has chopped and changed his side, experimenting with five new defenders. However, the 50-year-old says he has nearly settled on a first choice back line.

"Yes I am close but I change for different reasons.

"We’ve had suspensions, some injured players, some players we needed to test during the competition. Step by step we’ve tried to be a little bit more compact and find the best option for us at the back."
