Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic vows to stop the rot as he calls for bravery

Slavisa Jokanovic insists he is the right man to get Fulham out of trouble ahead of Monday's crunch clash at Huddersfield.

The pressure is growing on the Fulham manager, with his side in the relegation zone after seven games without a win.

Jokanovic said: “I have the confidence and believe in my job. It is not an easy job ahead of us, we must be brave and encourage the team not to stop, never give up.”

Huddersfield are the only team below Fulham in the table and a home win would leave Jokanovic in a vulnerable position. Fulham could end the day bottom and they play Liverpool on Sunday before an international break.

Fulham spent more than £100million to bring in new players in the summer but they have managed just one win in the Premier League and have the worst defensive record, having conceded 28 goals.

Jokanovic, who is in the final year of his contract, guided Fulham to promotion via the Championship play-offs last season and the club opened talks with him about a contract extension. However, an agreement was not reached over the summer.

Jokanovic has had a good relationship with Fulham owner Shahid Khan during his three years in charge and the Fulham board have backed him to put things right.

But while there were signs of defensive improvement against Manchester City in the 2-0 Carabao Cup defeat last Thursday, Jokanovic needs to provide further evidence tonight that he can turn things around.
