Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic retains the full backing of playing squad, insists Tom Cairney

Fulham captain Tom Cairney insists under-fire manager Slaviša Jokanović has the full backing of the squad.

The Cottagers slumped to their sixth straight defeat in all competitions on Monday night against Huddersfield – who sat bottom of the Premier League ahead of kick-off having failed to score a single goal at home.

Defeat at the John Smith’s Stadium saw Jokanović’s side replace them at the foot of the table with pressure growing on the Serbian.

Cairney however insists the playing squad remain fully behind the manager who oversaw their return to the Premier League last season.

"We thought if we got one goal then the tables might turn. We had one that was offside but we didn't create too many chances,” Cairney said.

"There's only us and the four walls that can get us out of it.

"The head coach has our backing completely. He turned it around for the club two-and-a-half years ago. It's down to us on the pitch to show him that."

Huddersfield’s win was their first in the league since April.
