Fulham boss Scott Parker piles pressure on West Brom in fight for automatic promotion

Fulham boss Scott Parker says the pressure is on opponents West Brom on Tuesday night as his side look to keep alive their slim hopes of automatic promotion.

Fulham travel to the Hawthorns looking for a fifth consecutive win, but know defeat will end their bid to jump above the Baggies and finish inside the Championship top two.

Parker, who will again be without injured captain Tom Cairney, knows his side can play with a little more freedom after their Play-Off place was secured with Friday's win over Cardiff.

West Brom will take a giant stride towards the Premier League with victory and Parker expects the hosts to feel the heat as the season reaches its climax.

"When you are at the top of the league and everyone is trying to catch you, that is where the pressure is," he said.

"Leeds and West Brom have been under that pressure for large parts of this season, when you are a Brentford or a Fulham at this time, trying to catch, that pressure is a little bit less.

"Certainly I think there is an element of that which is correct, this is a massive game for them. It is for us too, every one of my players realise how important this is for us."

A Fulham victory would also swing the door open for London rivals Brentford - who host Preston tomorrow - to sneak into the top two with a win.
