Fulham boss Scott Parker backs Aleksandar Mitrovic to 'come back firing' after Sheffield United nightmare

Scott Parker is sure Aleksandar Mitrovic will come back stronger after his nightmare afternoon cost Fulham their first win of the season against Sheffield United.

Mitrovic missed a penalty, wasted two other good chances and then conceded a late spot-kick as Fulham drew 1-1 at Bramall Lane on Sunday.

“Mitro has had a tough day, there is no denying that,” said Fulham manager Parker, whose side did pick up their first point of the season to move off the bottom of the table.

“He will be the first to admit that, with a missed penalty and two other missed chances which he normally puts in the net.

“In sport, sometimes you have bad days, but I have no doubt he will react in a positive way and come back firing.”

Mitrovic will have the chance to bounce back on Saturday, when winless Fulham welcome London rivals Crystal Palace to Craven Cottage.
