Fulham assessing Aleksandar Mitrovic fitness ahead of crunch Watford clash

Fulham were on Monday assessing whether Aleksandar Mitrovic will be fit to return from his stomach injury against Watford on Tuesday.

The forward has been struggling for weeks and missed Saturday’s 2-0 defeat by Manchester City.

Relegation will be confirmed if they lose again and Mitrovic, who played in Serbia’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Portugal last week, still needs treatment.

Meanwhile, Ryan Sessegnon says Fulham’s players want interim boss Scott Parker to become the club’s permanent manager.

The defeat by City was their fourth straight loss since Parker was appointed caretaker boss in February, though they have face three of the top six in that time and there has been an improvement in performances.

Sessegnon said: “He’s changed the mentality and really engaged with the fans as well.”

When asked if he wants Parker to land the job permanently, Sessegnon replied: “Yes, of course. I think everyone does. He’s changed the way we play. It would be good for the club.”
