Fujitsu Ltd. plans to begin trial tests late this month of an internet-based system in which it analyzes users' personalities before introducing them to minpaku private lodging services suited to their preferences.
The company aims to develop new minpaku-related businesses in cooperation with online search and reservation services.
Minpaku services are not limited to renting vacant accommodations in urban areas, with facilities in the countryside offering sporting and farming experiences as part of their services. Such rural minpaku facilities will be offered as part of the tests.
Users looking for minpaku accommodations will be introduced to three recommended facilities after answering 10 questions online. The questions include, "If you owned a second home, where would it be?" and "What is your favorite or best school subject?" The users will then be connected to the websites of major minpaku operators, where they can make reservations.
The website will be accessible through a Facebook page called "Tabi o Motto Mijika ni, Tabineko." Fujitsu said it plans to launch the website by the end of September.
After examining the reactions of users, Fujitsu will also consider offering a service in which artificial intelligence recommends transportation plans and trip programs.
