Fujifilm Unveils X100VI: Classic Rangefinder Camera With Advanced Features

40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor for DSLR image quality.

The Fujifilm X100VI is the latest addition to the X100 deluxe compact camera range, offering advanced features in a classic rangefinder style. This new model boasts a 40.2-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and a high-speed X-Processor 5 image processing engine, delivering DSLR image quality in a compact and lightweight body.

One of the standout features of the X100VI is its in-body image stabilization function, providing up to 6.0 stops of exposure without blurring. This technology, a first for the X100 Series, maintains the camera's characteristic compact size while enhancing its capabilities.

For enthusiasts of Fujifilm's renowned color reproduction technology, the X100VI does not disappoint. The camera offers 20 film-simulation effects, including the new 'REALA ACE' mode, which promises faithful color reproduction and high-contrast tonality.

In terms of autofocus performance, the X100VI incorporates an advanced prediction algorithm for reliable focusing, even on continuously moving subjects. The camera's subject detection AF, powered by deep-learning AI technology, can track a variety of subjects, from animals to drones.

The X100VI features an 'Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder' that allows users to seamlessly switch between the optical viewfinder (OVF) and the electronic viewfinder (EVF), catering to the rangefinder style of photography. The EVF boasts a high-resolution OLED panel with approximately 3.69 million dots for a superior shooting experience.

Additionally, the X100VI introduces 6.2K/30P movie recording, marking a first for the X100 Series. The camera also supports Frame.io Camera to Cloud functionality, enabling wireless uploading of photos and videos to streamline workflow processes.

Designed with both aesthetics and functionality in mind, the X100VI features an aluminum body with a finely blasted surface texture. The camera's ultra-thin tilt LCD monitor, ergonomic grip, and repositioned buttons enhance user comfort and ease of operation.

Weather resistance is ensured when using the optional AR-X100 adapter ring and PRF-49 protection filter with the X100VI's lens, allowing for shooting in various weather conditions.

The Fujifilm X100VI will be available in Black and Silver variants in the UK starting from 28 February 2024, priced at £1,599. A limited edition model, restricted to 1,934 units worldwide, will be exclusively available in Silver from 6 April 2024 at £1,934, including VAT.
